London Meetings

Regular meetings are held in London on trolleybus operation and history. Non-members are sure of a friendly welcome. Light refreshments are available. There is a small charge to defray costs.

Meetings are held at the premises of The Model Railway Club, 4 Calshot Street, London N1 (nearest Underground station: King’s Cross), normally on the third Wednesday of each month, commencing at 7:00pm. There is no meeting in August. In May the meeting usually features a London subject and the date and venue are subject to change. The future programme is set out below and also appears in each issue of Trolleybus Magazine.

  • Wednesday 21st February - Martin Jenkins: Early system closures such as South Lancs and St Helens (NOTE REVISED START TIME of 1430 hrs).

  • Wednesday 20th March - Roger Manley: Cine films of Reading, Bournemouth, Teesside, Walsall, Bradford and Cardiff. (NOTE REVISED START TIME of 1430 hrs).

  • Wednesday 17th April - Martin Eady: Southend trolleybuses from 1954.

  • Wednesday 8th May - Hugh Taylor: London’s trolleybuses. NOTE that this meeting is exceptionally being held on the SECOND Wednesday of the month.
Members should note that the February and March meetings are being held as AFTERNOON meetings as an experiment. There is no change to the normal 1900hrs start time of other meetings. All meetings continue to be held at Keen House.

Invitation To NTA Members.
Our friends in the Associazione Torinese Tram Storici (ATTS) of Turin cordially invite NTA members to participate in their programme of Zoom meetings. These cover both tramway and trolleybus subjects and their full programme can be found on their website: www.atts.to.it To view the programme, go to the big green central window, click on number 2 (in blue) and then on the Zoom icon. We shall also post details of individual trolleybus-related meetings on this page of our website.

The ATTS does not post access codes on the website as participation is reserved for ATTS members and special guests (including NTA members). The access codes will be sent to you by e-mail when registering your address with the ATTS. You should confirm NTA membership by quoting your Membership number.

The right is reserved to change the advertised programme in the event of unforeseen circumstances arising.

The Association welcomes offers of presentations for meetings from those who can provide a particular insight into trolleybuses and their operation, present or past. Please initially contact our London Meetings officer, John Parkin, on:-
meetings@www.nationaltrolleybus.org to discuss any suggestion that you have in mind.
